Local Archive Ingestion

Unlimited Mailbox provides a unique ingestion tool that extracts file/e-mail and in turn places it into the archive. This tool will identify personal (PST in Exchange, local archives in GroupWise, NSF in Lotus Notes/Domino) and other files (e-mail, calendar entries, etc) at designated locations on the network. Once the local archive file is located, its contents are exported to a standard format (.EML) and subsequently archived into Unlimited Mailbox. The archive process can be validated against an Administrator defined retention policy such that the messages will be moved to archive only if specified criteria are met.

Local archive data is fully indexed when moved to the user’s archive container and thereby available for Search and Retrieval. This tool can be configured such that the original local archive file is immediately deleted after being archived (contents only exist in archive), thereby freeing up storage.

The personal archive ingestion tool requires no Exchange server, no Outlook client, and no Active Directory interaction. Consequently there is no impact on the production email environment, because the local archive files will be ingested directly into the archive.
